A Unique Dining Experience
We are a restaurant committed to offering a unique dining experience — unlike any other in German Village and Columbus.
At G. Michael’s we are committed to focusing on local, seasonal food as much as possible. We endeavor to source as much of our pork, beef, produce and dairy from central Ohio growers and producers as possible. Feel free to ask your server which of our menu items feature these local ingredients.
David Tetzloff, Executive Chef and Co-Owner
David has been cooking up unique, delectable dishes with G. Michael’s Bistro & Bar for more than 10 years. Chef Tetzloff creates everything from scratch, using the freshest quality ingredients and his signature southern-inspired “low-country” flair.
Tetzloff earned his B.A. in English from Miami University of Ohio in 1994, and his A.D.S. in Culinary Arts from Johnson and Wales University in Charleston, South Carolina in 1996. His passion for cooking and restaurant management stemmed from working at several restaurants in college and culinary school, including Skippers Pub in Oxford and Athens, Ohio and Slightly North of Broad and Slightly Up the Creek in Charleston. Chef returned to Columbus in 1999 to join G. Michael’s Bistro & Bar as sous chef.
Chef Tetzloff creates a new menu each season, with innovative, unique ingredients and preparations. He enjoys creating and preparing pork dishes especially, because the meat is so versatile and the mild taste works well with most palettes. One of his signature pork entrees is the Southern fried pork chop.
Chef Tetzloff lives in Bexley with his wife of 13 years and his two young children.
G. Michael’s is the perfect spot for your next gathering, whether it be a corporate function, birthday, anniversary or private party. We will customize the party to your specifications and design a menu to compliment the tone and theme of the occasion.
G. Michael’s is typically open for dinner only, but we’re happy to host private luncheons for 25 to 60 people. To schedule an appointment for more information and to plan your event, please call 614-464-0575.
“His pure love for cooking shines through on the menu, which changes seasonally and sometimes even daily, and on the plates themselves. Tetzloff makes hearty soul food clearly inspired by time spent in lowcountry South Carolina, but with a devotion to local ingredients that speaks to his Ohio roots”.
